Why did you get involved with the TIPS network?

My route to the TIPS Network was, perhaps, unconventional. Driven by my passion for sustainability and buoyed by the growing number of sustainability regulations (including the EU’s Environmental Crime Directive and upcoming mandatory human rights and environmental due diligence requirements), I have become increasingly aware of the nexus between corruption, bribery and ESG-related damages – something the Monetary Authority of Singapore warned of only this June. This overlap fascinates me.

As sustainability-focused legal frameworks develop, I thought there was a real opportunity in taking learnings from the more mature anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices. This led me to the TIPS Network. Since then, I have attended various TIPS events including one on ecowashing and how lessons from AML can bolster ESG.

Please describe your experience as part of the TIPS network.

The events I have attended thus far have been engaging and the learnings I have taken away, invaluable - it is fantastic that TIPS members willingly share their experiences and insights. The mentorship scheme presents an exciting opportunity to deepen my understanding of this area and I look forward to participating in more TIPS events in the coming years.
