TIPS Newsletter | July 2026 – TI-UK: ‘Transparency International's Annual Report 2025’ and final call to apply for the TIPS Managing Committee

Dear TIPS member,
In July 2026, Transparency International (TI) published its Annual Report 2025, outlining the organisation’s global anti-corruption activities and key achievements during the year. The report highlights TI’s contribution to international anti-corruption standards, transparency reforms, accountability mechanisms, and the protection of civic space.
Some of the main areas of impact highlighted in the report include:
Protecting Public Resources: TI contributed to anti-corruption commitments in the UN Financing for Development agreement, promoted debt transparency, expanded procurement oversight through Integrity Pacts, and supported reforms in land governance and climate finance.
Stopping Flows of Dirty Money: TI supported reforms on beneficial ownership transparency, regulation of professional facilitators of illicit financial flows, and efforts that contributed to the EU’s ban on golden passport schemes.
Securing Integrity in Politics: TI played a key role in the adoption of UNCAC Resolution 11/7 on political finance, establishing new global standards on transparency and oversight of political funding.
Driving Integrity in Business: TI promoted stronger corporate integrity standards, whistleblowing mechanisms, and anti-corruption safeguards related to climate governance and environmental protection.
The report concludes that stronger transparency, accountability, and civic participation remain essential to reducing corruption and improving governance globally.

TIPS | How Corruption Manifests in Britain – in Conversation with Robert Barrington | 14 July 2026 | London
On 14 July 2026, the TIPS Network hosted an event featuring Robert Barrington, former Executive Director of Transparency International UK and now Professor of Anti-Corruption Practice at the University of Sussex, in conversation with Tobias Beal, Principal at Charles River Associates, ahead of the official launch of Robert’s latest book, Corrupted Kingdom.
Robert began with a presentation to overview Corrupted Kingdom’s findings, before a Q&A with Tobias. He especially discussed the fragmented state of the UK’s anti-corruption organisations, which he described as a “blindfolded orchestra” lacking coordination, and highlighted the limited use of the term “corruption” in reports arising from parliamentary committee inquiries.
We thank Tobias Beal for moderating the discussion and Charles River Associates for kindly hosting the event and providing refreshments.

5. Final call to apply for the TIPS Managing Committee 2026/2027
The TIPS Network is accepting final applications for roles on the TIPS Managing Committee for 2026/2027. This is a great opportunity to directly support and shape the direction and achievements of the TIPS Network as it continues to grow over the next year and beyond. You can apply by completing the application form by 14 August 2026.
TIPS committee members will:
Be an active advocate for the important work of Transparency International UK;
Learn, engage and share experiences with the TIPS committee and the TIPS community;
Belong to a committee of enthusiastic professionals and academics who share a passion for the anti-corruption agenda;
Attend TIPS committee meetings and in-person socials throughout the year.
